Kabul ExpressFilm : Kabul Express

Starring: John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Linda Arsenio

Director : Kabir Khan

Kabul Express is one film most movie buffs were looking forward to, considering the hype around shooting an Indian film in war torn Afghanistan. But the movie doesn’t really live up to expecations, though there are some excellent visuals of the Afghan landscape.

The story in brief revolves around two journalists (Arshad and John) who go all the way from India to Afghanistan to interview any taliban guy they can get their hands on. Their journey takes them through war-torn areas deep in the mountain land with the help of an Afghan driver. They are even captured by other dreaded groups and almost slaughtered but saved everytime. They also encounter an American lady journalist who latches onto them with some innane lines on her reason for taking such risks in life.

Bhagambhag is also Govinda’s much touted come back vehicle after a four year gap so one is hoping to get some good entertainment in the theatres. Akshay too has proved himself as a good comic actor and Paresh is an old hand at comedy.

Home chic - What You Wear Matters! It’s a fact of life that many of the models who walk the ramp wearing oh-so-precious designer clothes must be having their own favourite clothes to wear at home – old, soft, and quite shapeless or faded. What we wear next to our skin, or in those moments when we want to be completely comfortable, completely without anxiety about how we look, could be some really zany garments. In these times of stress, we can be forgiven for our attachment to shorts at least five years old, or a sweater we have forgotten the vintage of. By their undemanding comfort, and the fact that they have survived the rapid change that confronts us, these garments have become understandably dear, and its OK.

But when you consider the devastation that some of these wardrobe choices sometimes cause in the man-woman scenario within the home, you realize the need for a rethink.

BabulFilm: Babul

Starring : Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, John Abraham.

Director: Ravi Chopra

Babul as the name itself implies, has all the makings of a tear jerker. Ravi Chopra must be commended for embarking on the bold theme of widow remarriage but unfortunately, though the movie is interesting in the first half, it starts slowing down its pace later.
