Relating to In-LawsWhen you really come to think about it, most confrontations or problems with in-laws are usually about making space for yourself in a new family. You have grown up in another family, with all its strengths and weaknesses, its particular opinions, ways of doing things, and ways of expressing affection or respect. Now you have to relate to another, where the ground rules, the atmosphere may be completely different from one you are used to. The challenge is to make it work.

An earlier generation would have preached the virtues of adjustment. Once considered the supreme Indian virtue, needed in every area of life (thoda adjust kar lo na, bhaiya) adjustment can no longer be a one-way street in today’s times. Better words for today would be assertion and acceptance. Assert your will to the extent that is very important for you. Accept that certain things cannot be changed for your convenience, and will continue to be done in the old way.

ApneFilm : Apne
Starring : Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Kirron Kher.
Director : Anil Sharma

This is one film which was touted as a unique one since it starred all the Deol men, coming together for the first time on screen. Good enough reason to arouse curiosity and bring audiences to the theatres one would say. And fortunately, both for the Deols and the audiences, the movie does not disappoint in the least. Just the right mix of drama, emotion and action, makes this movie eminently watchable.

However, for those who watch it just like any other movie, for its entertainment value, there are reasons enough to see the film, if you enjoy magic and all the mystery that surrounds it, Harry Potter and Hogwarts style!

Before you say 'YES'Among all the choices that we make in life, there are two choices that affect the entire course of our future.  A – the choice of our career and B, the choice of our life-partner. Career-wise we can be expected to switch horses midstream if we discover that we have goofed up somewhere but hardly so in marriage, which is why the decision to marry should be given a lot of thought.

Marriage is serious business after all. So a marriage proposal ought to be accorded the highest scrutiny before its acceptance or rejection.
Contrary to my time, where status, family background and academic considerations outranked appearance and personality, today’s men and women look for partners who are personable, confident and smart. So what are the factors that should be considered before you say ‘yes’?

All fun. No hassles

Wedding ConsultantsWho needs a wedding consultant? You can easily say “Oh I can plan my own wedding. I do not need help at all, after all what can a wedding consultant do that I can not do on my own?” Sounds like you?

The reality is that a wedding consultant can help you make your wedding day a hassle-free occasion. The consultant usually begins by helping you determine a budget. With that number in mind she/he can recommend the best vendors you can afford.

The next step is negotiating a deal with these vendors and that is where the wedding consultant service comes in. Someone who plans dozens of weddings a year has more bargaining power …
