Relationship break upThe papers sometimes speak of revenge of the kind usually taken by a thwarted or rejected lover or ex husband or wife. While some take to stalking, others send abusive e-mails, and still others try to poison the relationship that their ex-partner may have formed with another, by spreading vicious rumours, or in confrontations that are full of harsh accusation.

Fortunately, most of us do not take similar routes out of the frustration and anger, sadness and bitterness we feel when breaking up with someone we have invested our love in for whatever period. As thinking and feeling adults we should have the ability to take things in our stride and move on in a positive way. This is because how we break up, and how we recover from a break up is very important from the viewpoint of our own further growth and our understanding with the opposite sex. Feelings of blame or rejection, of loss and betrayal, have to be dealt with and put aside before we can be fresh, trusting, hopeful and happy once again.

My Mystery ManIt was an evening unlike any other. After an exhausting day at work, we had assembled for the dress rehearsals of the forthcoming cultural show sponsored by BGI, a philanthropic organization.

The first dance troupe was on stage. I sat in the audience awaiting my turn, my eyes noting their superb sense of timing. Right in the centre was a guy whom I had never seen before. It was a treat to watch him. Our eyes met for a brief moment. Soon I was on stage in a folksy south Indian dance, engulfed in a warm sense of fellow feeling. Then suddenly I saw him. He was watching me intently. My mystery man. I looked away, unable to counter his unblinking stare and stumbled in confusion. “Why don’t you look somewhere else, buddy,” I pleaded silently. But each time I stole a glance I found myself under his scrutiny.

Possessiveness‘I’d rather see you dead, little girl than to see you with another man…’ sang the Beatles in the 1960s. Its common for partners to be possessive about each other, that’s what the whole exclusivity deal is about, isn’t it? But often in relationships, feelings of possessiveness develop about completely different things and people than the conventional ‘other man’ or ‘other woman’. So what are those things that ruffle feathers and cause men and women to seethe silently next to their spouses or partners? What makes people feel completely dissatisfied because they feel there is a part of their partner that they cannot ‘own’ or reach? Here are some of these trouble areas.

If i had a daughterI would call my daughter Nisha because to my mind that name evokes images of a soft and beautiful dusk. However, when she’s old enough I’d give her the liberty to call herself by any name she fancies because a name is something that stays with you for life and so being the case, why not enjoy the right to be called by a self-chosen name?

I’d instill in her a love for all things beautiful and an unconditional acceptance of all that is not, for everything has its own place of pride in this world.

Successful CareerRahul and Reena had once been an extremely loving couple in fact they were very much the ideal couple in the modern day definition of the word. Both having successful careers, two beautiful children and all the luxuries that money can buy. But, right now they are headed to the lawyers office to find out what they needed to get separated mutually. What was the cause of this dramatic turn of events in the near lives of this apparently perfect couple?

Well, apparently it is their successful careers that came in the way of their successful marriage. Social scientists believe that the connection between both spouses working, happy marriages and divorce rates is both complex and controversial. However, there seems to be a very clear connection.
