Beauty at the beachWhat better way to cope with the rising temperatures than to spend time at the beach? While it is a great way to flaunt your flawless figure, it is also a great way to relax and rejuvenate.  But, you need to take some important measures to make sure that your fulfilled outing does not turn into an agonizing experience.

Exposure to sun on beach can cause wrinkles, blackheads, acne, dry skin, broken blood vessels and cold lip sores.

We all know that as heat of the sun intensifies, it becomes increasingly important to protect your self from the harmful ultra violet rays of the Sun. Exposure to the direct rays of the sun at the beach is major cause for premature wrinkling and drying up of the skin, blackheads and acne may appear, blood vessels may break and one can also develop lip sores.

The best time to go to the beach is either before ten’oclock in the morning or after four o’ clock in evening. This is because, the sun’s rays are less intense during these times. Whereas, the intensity of the sun’s rays at noon can affect the skin and very negatively.

Here are a few tips that will help you enjoy the sun, surf and sand with abandon:

  • Use a sunscreen. Remember to choose your sunscreen carefully. The higher the SPF content in a sunscreen the more effective it is. So, use a lotion that has an SPF content of at least 30.
  • Removing dry and dead cells before applying sunscreen give it more scope to act. Do not apply the cream just before you head out to the beach. This must be done at least tow hours before you do that. That’s not all for optimum protection keep applying the lotion/ cream every two hours.
  • When you return indoors remember to cool and moisturize your skin using a moisturizer. Aloe vera gel is a great natural option.
  • Your hair needs extra care when you’re at the beach. More so if you have coloured tresses. The slat and sand may end up fading your hair colour. Shampoo your hair and condition it heavily before you head for the beach.
  • Don’t forget your wide brimmed hat for that added protection.
  • Wear your sunglasses all the while to protect the eyes and the tender skin around the eyes.
  • Drink a lot of water and keep yourself hydrated.
  • Always shampoo and condition your hair when you’re back indoors.
