Nuts and Fish oilRita was nostalgic when she was introducing her friend Seema to the various friends and relatives as they flicked through her wedding album. “Wow! Rita. Now we know why Ravi fell head over heels in love with you. You were so pretty.”

Rita moved uncomfortably in her seat. Gingerly she said, “I know I must loose some weight.” They chatted for a while and soon Seema left and Rita got busy. But, every moment that she had for herself her friend’s remarks seemed to be ringing in her ears.

Rita found herself reflecting on her decade long marriage. She was very happily married in the social sense. How different her relationship was now. Though she continues to be the perfect wife and together they make the perfect couple. She couldn’t remember when they had last touched each other.

This might seem a common enough scenario in marriages that have lasted that long. But, the question that one needs to ask oneself is, is this physical distance the normal kind? The kind that sets in because the couple is busy attending to other immediate priorities or there a deeper reason? And the deeper reason could be that- the couple have lost interest in each other as partners in every sense of the word.

One sure way of making amends in a relationship that seems to have drifted apart is to build up the diminished physical bonding. And guess what all you have to do is eat your way to it!

In her book “The Orgasmic Diet” Marrena Lindberg says following a certain diet pattern will you reach that much talked about “big O” that has been eluding you for so long.

However, I cannot say that here is a magical plan that will promise you the kind of sex you have dreamed of but, these tips have proved to have worked wonders for many.

  • A diet that is low in fat is a great starter. This will help to get your body into shape.
  • Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables, fish oils.
  • Include a certain amount of protein in every meal.
  • Eat nuts like almonds and pistachios.
  • Keep a check on the amount of starchy foods you eat. As this raises the levels of serotonin which in turn will cool you off considerably.
  • Consume foods that contain both saturated and monosaturated fats. This will help to increase  the secretion of dopamine which directly impacts the happiness centre in the brain and is excellent for a healthy heart and combating depression.
  • Include a lot of sea food in your diet.
  • Garlic increases blood flow to the sexual organs thus heightening desire.
  • Foods like oysters which are rich in zinc are excellent for heightening male sexual desire.
  • Both chocolates and juicy peaches could be your choice of dessert. A word of caution here- avoid overly starchy or sugary deserts.
  • Eat foods rich in iron. Iron deficiency can cause a severe drop in energy levels which in turn can affect your sex life negatively.
  • Drink as much water as you possibly can. Water has a natural potential of cleansing your system and Follow these tips if not all at least 75% of them and the rest I leave to the achiever’s imagination!
