Handmade invitationIt really doesn’t matter if you are planning to have a large or a small wedding; you still have to send out invitations. For larger wedding parties, you should buy your invitations at bulk party stores, or wedding warehouses in order to get the best buy for your money.

Of course, you can always choose to make your own invitations which is also nice and unique.

Common homemade invitations are often made up of tissue paper over white regular paper, and decorated colored paper. When it comes to wedding invitations, some people even use calligraphy to hand craft their invitations and it adds a nice elegant touch to your invitations.

When you make your invitations by hand, you can address each one individually so that you can add unique invitations to your guests that are addressed specifically to them.

WeddingOk, you’ve found him.  It wasn’t easy, it took a lot longer than you thought, but finally Mr. Right did emerge from the sea of male faces, and now there’s an expensive rock sparkling on your finger.  After all that searching, you’d think it would be time to have some relaxation wouldn’t you?  Just enjoy being with this man who adores you and who you want to spend the rest of your life?  Unfortunately, that’s not quite going to happen just yet!

As soon as you announce the engagement, your life will never be the same again - unless you take control right from the very beginning.  That doesn’t mean that you become some kind of bride-to-be-tyrant, although it’s just possible that this might be called for at some point if people are having a hard time accepting that it’s not them getting married, but rather it means that you take control of deciding what kind of wedding you and your partner want.  A wedding isn’t an excuse for a family reunion.

It’s your special day.  The day you want to remember for the rest of your life.  And you need to have people hear how you want it to be!

Dating commitmentSo you’ve been dating a while and you’re wondering if the relationship is going anywhere. Is this long-term, maybe even life-long? Everything seems to be going in the right direction. If your thoughts are running in this direction, you’re thinking commitment and it’s time to discuss it.

Women are usually more willing to discuss commitment than men, until both parties are a little older. Then, it evens out. Before the subject is broached, however, both parties need to think about what they are looking for in the relationship, and if they are thinking long-term.

Regardless of what the relationship “experts” say, it is often best to approach this kind of subject head-on. Hedging can often make both partners edgy and even more reluctant to face the issue. A good way to start the conversation is, “Where do you think we’re headed in this relationship?” or, “Have you been thinking about how long we’ve been dating? Where would you like to see us in the future?”

Break UpWhat do ‘Break up’, ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’ and ‘Puthu Puthu Arthangal’ have in common? Well, besides being titles of movies in different languages, they reflect space conflicts in relationships.

Let’s start with ‘Break Up’ where the couple is in a ‘live-in’ relationship. The woman – Jennifer is the responsible one. The guy – Vince is the happy, go lucky type.

The aforesaid couple has a pattern established, where she does all the work and he takes it for granted.

Vince is a prototype of ‘Peter Pan’ - the boy who doesn’t want to grow up. He needs constant reminding about things to do. His winsome approach to life is what attracted her to him. Ironically it is the same quality of his – the reluctance to take life responsibly that drives her away from him.

A person needs to evolve and ‘grow up’ at some point in their adult life. If this does not happen then the burden of the relationship becomes too much to handle.

Space in a relationshipThere is much hype about the need for space in a relationship. Is it really important for a couple to have space in a relationship or is it some fancy talk doing rounds in the town? The need for space is not so much about the need for physical space in a relationship but more about defining the identity of a partner in a relationship. The space here means -where do you fit in the relationship.

Kausalya and Purohit got married and settled into their own house. Things were ‘lovey- dovey’ initially but started going downhill when Kausalya felt the need to express herself as an individual. Purohit, who had grown up seeing his mother accept the demands of his father, could not understand Kausalya’s need for individuality.

His rationale made him think that she was rejecting his opinions and by extension rejecting him. This conflict ended up in frequent spats with each hurling abuses and throwing accusations at each other.
