Women's perceptionWe call ourselves the most developed species; we have evolved over the past few thousands of years. Yet, some of the ways we function bear semblance to the way the Neanderthal man operated. One example of this fact is the way we choose our partners or mates.

According to the theory of evolution women’s primary concerns when it comes to choosing a prospective mate are social status, wealth, commitment to family and the desire to have children. They considered these characteristics important for building a lasting, long-term relationship.

Studies conducted in the field reveal that women still consider these traits important. Sunita (name changed) who feel in love with someone just because of the person he was and has recently filed for a divorce vehemently disagrees this research finding as she says, “I think one does not look for the first two factors(social status and wealth) when making a choice of mate but as life together goes on I guess these factors gain considerable importance.”

Dream partnerFinding the right one when it comes to partners isn’t easy, but what usually complicates the situation is that you aren’t really sure what the ‘right one’ is like. If you don’t have a focused idea of the kind of partner you’re looking for, you aren’t likely to recognize them even if you fell over their feet in the coffee shop.

Defining your dream partner isn’t about setting an ingredients list in stone, but rather thinking about the sort of person your ideal partner would be, creating a mental check-list so that you don’t spend a lot of time dating people who fall a long way from that list. Take a look at the following steps and see how easy it is to define your dream partner.

Step 1: What’s the most important attribute that your dream partner must have. Unlike the other attributes you will put on your list, this is the one unshakable thing that your partner has to have. The idea here is that this is going to be something important to you and it will help you to immediately narrow your search down to only the potential partners who have this personality trait or physical characteristic. Remember, this is something that is un-negotiable - something such as a ‘non-smoker’ or even someone who does smoke, or someone who doesn’t have a prison record, or isn’t allergic to cats, or think even deeper than this, the person you are looking for must like and want children (or not!).

Wedding InvitationWe have all heard of big celebrity weddings where the invitations are delivered to select invitees accompanied by rich gifts. We all remember some weddings we have attended only because of the invitations that were sent for them. Invitations are important aspects of a wedding, and a fair amount of heartburn goes into the perfect motif, material, wording, etc. for a good wedding invitation.

The good news is that we are now in the 21st century where we not only have a phenomenal choice of papers and styles for invitations, but also have the choice of sending breezy e mail invites to our particular friends and intimates. Today’s environment gives us the freedom to explore our own way in calling the people we want. However, we still need to give a thought to what we are saying and how we are saying it.

It's only wordThose were the days when the age of innocence went well beyond early teens. We were in the 6th standard. One of the students in our class, a comparatively well built girl had just attained her puberty. Since no one had yet educated us about the facts of life, we were all quite taken aback when we saw her condition.

So the smartest among us, assumed the responsibility to enlighten us. Only problem was she too was as much in the dark about this ‘puberty’ business as the rest of us. So she made up a disgusting story about some kind of terrible disease having afflicted the poor soul. And we believed it. Frightened and mortified, the troubled girl wept copiously till our class teacher came in just then and took us to task.

Men break yout heartEvery student who had the privilege to study under Miss Rosalind had harboured one great desire. To be noticed by this beautiful lady! Inspired by her high standards, we were prepared to do anything.

A tall statesque lady of amazing beauty, Miss Rosalind was the best all-rounder teacher we had. Good manners and exemplary character meant a lot to her. Her perfection made us feel gauche and uncivilized often but etiquette was a subject that could not be trifled with in her eyes.
