Relationship advice: reading men’s body language
1 Comment Published by Newsroom September 15th, 2008 in RelationshipEMail This Post
Sometimes body language can be even more telling than spoken words. Men can be hard to read, so if you want to learn how to translate your guy’s body language, take a look at these examples:
1. He is seated with his legs crossed, foot facing you.
This position is a good sign! It means that he turned on by you… so lean in for a kiss!
2. He is seated with his legs crossed, foot facing away from you.
Bad sign… this indicates lack of interest. Has he seemed bored lately? Maybe it is time to spice things up, before the flame goes out completely. Beware: if he is seated with his legs crossed, foot facing some other girl, then he has a wandering eye.

Nothing really beats the self-confidence of little children. As infants and toddlers, we are sure that we can do anything if we try. So we reach out and touch strangers, begin drawing great works of art as soon as a pencil is put in our hands, crawl unhesitatingly towards something that excites our curiosity. Then the conditioning and warnings of our parents and elders begins to get the better of us. ‘Don’t touch!’ ‘Don’t go there!’ ‘Don’t do that!’ and similar cries begin to shape our world.
The problem is, by the time we grow into adults, a lot of these cries have become internalized. Famous American inspirational writer and speaker Dr. Gerald Jampolsky calls this limiting voice the ‘ego’. He says the ego is that aspect of our mind that refuses to let us grow to our full potential or acknowledge the abundance that is life.

The conversation with her best friend had run on for over an hour. At the end of it, Preeti was in a reflective mood. She walked around, putting away things in the small room she had as a paying guest in the busy metro, letting the details of the romantic crisis afflicting her friend run through her head. Feeling philosophical, she decided to send one last sms. “Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired…” she wrote. “You don’t know it, but you are loved in a thousand ways, even if it isn’t in the way you want…good night, get some sleep.” As she punched in the familiar numbers, she was yawning, feeling sleepy herself. It was past midnight.

Being together on life’s journey is an important experience that brings out many of the qualities that we admire in our partners. The romance of travel, exposing us as it does to scenes and settings quite removed from our day-to-day world, enhances the experience of love between two people Or does it?

How good or bad is your telephone etiquette?
Check this out. Are you one of those people who call someone, hear the call waiting beep on your line, and say, Hey I gotta go, there’s another call coming in, while you abruptly disconnect.
Do you dial a number and say ‘Hello, who’s speaking?’ before introducing yourself.
