Improve your MarriageHave you ever heard the phrase “You are what you eat”? This catchy slogan from the fitness industry reminds us that how we “spend” our calories determines our health. Want to be fat? Then eat lots of fat. Want to be healthy? Well, you get the idea.

When it comes to your marriage,”YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO.” In other words, how you and your spouse SPEND YOUR TIME determines the strength of your marriage. Spend it together and you’ll feel connected. Do your own thing too often and you might sleep in the same bed, but you’ll feel worlds apart.

At the beginning of your relationship, you probably had no trouble spending lots of time together doing just about anything. And, in fact, SHARING TIME was exactly what CREATED CLOSENESS between you. Marriage MakeoverFor better or for worse, we’ve all learned how to be in relationships from observing the unions that surrounded us throughout our lives. If you grew up in a family where faithfulness, compassion and commitment were top priorities, and conflicts were dealt with rather than swept away, you’re likely to bring these pro-relationship qualities to your marriage or relationship.

If, on the other hand, you observed infidelity, deceit and intolerance, you may struggle with similar patterns in your own marriage or relationship.

The manner in which your caregivers responded to your needs will also impact how you relate to your partner. For instance, imagine that whenever you became frightened as a child you sought out your parents for comfort. But instead of receiving the comforting responses you needed, your parents minimized your feelings with statements like, “Oh stop it. There’s nothing to be afraid of,” or “Why are you acting like such a baby?”

Housing helpRakesh was puzzled. Things between him and Sunaina, his wife had been going the usual way of newly-weds – some fights, some fun, a lot of passion and love to provide the delicious seasoning to everything. Then, for no apparent reason, they started developing some cold vibes and he was at a loss to explain why.

“At the time, neither of us were able to immediately connect the way the maid was behaving with our personal irritation with each other. It took a few weeks for us to understand and finally decide to get rid of her. After that, we changed the house rules – I am completely in charge of the house help. He never intervenes, unless I specifically ask for help,” reveals Sunaina.

Love ProposalDoes the thought of proposing to her make you nervous? ‘What if she refuses?’— Is this the thought that runs through your mind?

Flowering AnthuriumsIt was just another of those rushed mornings and Rita was as usual torn between the two household helpers, her little fellow and her blackberry. Finally, she found the much awaited moment which was entirely her own. And after bidding her little one goodbye Rita settled down with her cup of tea.

Briefly glancing through the newspapers. She heard Naveen call out to her from the garden. “Hey Rita, can you come down for a while the anthuriums have begun flowering!” he screamed. Rita put down the paper and popped her head out to catch a glimpse of Naveen and said,” I’ll see it on the way out. I really must hurry up.” Then she walked towards the bathroom. There was no time for breakfast so she walked towards the car busy giving some instructions to her secretary as her chauffer walked behind her with an armful of files.
