Generation YThe first time I met Pankaj was when he was a little over 16 years at a dinner party hosted by his parents. A trifle gawky, somewhat shy and reticent, he seemed the ‘speak when spoken to’ type of guy. Three years later, very recently in fact, I bumped into Pankaj at a mall with a pretty young thing, and could barely recognize him. Slickly gelled, streaked hair and sporting jeans that seemed on the verge of slipping down, a gleaming huge Tom Hilfiger watch on his wrist, Pankaj was a changed guy, but very much a part of the ‘branded’ ‘pierced’ and ‘tattooed’ Generation Y (which includes all those born between 1965 to 1978).

Transforming our WorkplaceWho doesn’t want to land a dream job? After all isn’t that why we hone our skills, garner more experience and aspire to acquire academic recognition? Maya KannadiFilm : Maya Kannadi
Starring : Cheran, Navya
Director : Cheran

Though his movies have strong messages that linger long in the mind, and it is no different with this film, the manner in which he delivers the message this time, doesn’t seem to be up to the mark. One surely misses the Cheran touch, the ability to convey more with less.

Stress And The Working WomenWaking up at sharp 6 in the morning after retiring to bed late at night, rustling up an appetizing breakfast for everyone while getting the kids all spruced up for school, taking care of the sundry house requirements that demand her attention …that’s the average working woman’s home schedule for you. And things are not easy for her on the work front either. After all the modern workplace comes with its own share of tensions.

The multiple-roles that women find themselves compelled to play these days, often bring about a major energy leak both at the physical as well as psychological level. One might argue that men too face stressful situations at the workplace. True enough, but then very few men are called upon to give their hundred percent equally at home and at work.
